Wholesale Broadband Managed Connect (WBMC)
Overview
Our most popular layer 2 broadband service takes aggregation a step further than the underlying WBC solution, providing the inter-connects between the 20 key location nodes across the UK. This means you don’t need to have a presence in each of those nodes yourself. Instead, you can use our ultrafast, highly resilient core network.
Make use of our network
This allows you to aggregate traffic back to your preferred location(s) for internet service and peering and connect your network to ours using a host link. That may be a single node, a datacentre or even an external end site. It’s perfect if you're a small or medium-sized communication provider and don't want to invest in dedicated Wholesale Broadband Connect (WBC) aggregation points.
Your responsibilities
To operate a fully functioning broadband service, you need to manage the following components, but using our network through WBMC allows you to extend your network reach across the UK easily and efficiently:
One or more WBMC host links to connect your network to ours.
Sufficient internet peering and DNS capacity to support your end users accessing the internet (if required).
One or more devices capable of handling the tunnels and sessions we’ll send over the host links.
Customer premises equipment (CPE), because it’s a wires-only service.
A means of authenticating your end users and assigning one or more IP addresses to their connection.
End user customer support.
